Sekonda is a British watch brand that was founded in 1966. 
The brand started with a small collection of Russian mechanical watches. 
In 1966, Margulies, the owner of the successful company, and Soviet distributor ChasProm created the brand Sekonda. 
The name Sekonda means "second" in Russian. 
After the Soviet Union broke up, Sekonda stopped having ties to Russia and began producing watches in Hong Kong.
