Ramona 4007 Cal Automatic Gentleman's Watch

A high quality early 60's watch with a top end automatic movement, all in good order, one side of the face is aged. New crystal, and strap, 34mmx39mm.

Ramona is a lesser-known vintage Swiss watch brand from the mid-20th century, specifically active during the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. Ramona operated as an independent assembler or "private label" brand typical of that era, sourcing reliable, high-grade third-party mechanical movements rather than manufacturing movements in-house.

• Most surviving Ramona watches date from the late 1950s through the early 1970s. They frequently featured well-respected, robust Swiss automatic (self-winding) or manual movements from makers like Felsa (such as the Felsa 1560, Felsa 692, and Felsa 4007N) and ETA (such as the ETA 2452). Many models prominently featured 25-jewel automatic movements equipped with Incabloc shock protection systems. Ranging from classic dress watches with gold-plated cases and silvered dials to robust skin divers with distinct rotating bezels and date magnifiers.

The Felsa 4007 (and its updated counterpart, the Felsa 4007N) is a highly regarded Swiss automatic mechanical watch movement introduced in the late 1950s. Produced by Felsa, a historic movement manufacturer that became a core part of Ebauches SA, it belongs to the famous "Bidynator" family. The Bidynator series is legendary in watchmaking history because it was one of the first commercially successful automatic systems to feature a rotor that winds the mainspring efficiently in both directions.
