1950's Swiss Made "Globa Sport" Chronostop Watch
This is a beautiful 1950's vintage Swiss Globa Sport early 'stop-start' chronograph (or Chronostop) watch .

This 1950’s telemeter watch is 38mm excluding the crown.A beautiful black dial with two sub dials (the bottom with a missing hand) a rotating outer black bezel and fixed inner red, enabling the cleverer wearers to work out all manner of complicated information - The pushers work correctly, one stopping the second hand, the other starting it.
The telemeter dial has the ability for it's wearer to measure the distance to an event that can be both seen and heard, i.e an alien spaceship landing, or a lightning strike....
This is a one jewel R. Lapanouse movement and keeps accurate time. Technically this watch is a chronograph, however often being referred to as a "Chronostop" . The chronograph's upper sub dial registers 45 minute increments while the lower totals 6 hours.
