  • Mentor watches were practical, mid-century Swiss everyday timepieces produced primarily by the watch firm Bader & Hafner. Based in Holderbank and Soleure, Switzerland, the company registered the Mentor brand name on July 11, 1941. Art Deco style "MENTOR" dials were in active production by at least 1947. The "Mentor" name was also briefly used on pocket watch movements by the Ansonia Clock Co. in New York during the early 20th century. Mentor watches were reliable, mass-market mechanical timepieces rather than luxury items. They utilized solid, third-party Swiss mechanical movements from makers like ETA, FHF, AS, and Baumgartner. They offered diverse styles, ranging from classic stainless steel and gold-plated dress wristwatches to alarm pocket watches, chronographs, and jump hour digital displays.
