Odeon 17 Jewel Automatic Gentleman's Watch - Felsa 690 Self Winding Movement

"Odeon" was a brand of The Dreffa Watch Company, this near perfect example has a wonderful textured dial, with Arabic numerals, and arrowhead markers,a heavy gold plated 33mmx40mm case, and is running a top end Felsa Automatic  movement which keeps time correctly. A new acrylic crystal, and a new "Condor"leather strap.
The Felsa Bidynator movement (here caliber 690, the second generation of “Bidynator” movements), was the first one, to wind in both rotor directions. It is the precessor of the modern selfwindig wristwatch.
Dreffa began with a family of watchmakers and was established by Armand Dreyfus in Geneva, Switzerland, as Montres Dreffa in 1874, later changing to Dreffa Watch Co. to expand its market and register the name in the USA. After suffering from the quartz crisis in 1975, the brand was acquired in 1985 by Jacques Maguin, who updated its logo, and later by TGX Holdings in 2014, which continues to oversee the brand.
