1960's Doxa 17 Jewel Movement Manual Winding Watch

This one is working correctly and suitable for daily use. The heavy stainless-steel case measures 34mm by 40mm excluding the winding crown. The dial is superb, silver dial, with applied gold numerals and batons, gold hands, with red sweep seconds.
Doxa was founded in 1889 by Georges Ducommun in Le Locle, Switzerland, beginning with a focus on quality and affordable timepieces. The brand gained early recognition, developing an innovative 8-day movement for which it received a patent in 1907, which was later used in vehicle dashboards. Doxa became particularly famous for its diving watches, introducing the SUB 300 in 1967 with its iconic bright orange dial, which was chosen for visibility underwater. The brand's history also includes a partnership with Jacques-Yves Cousteau and a fictional legacy through the character Dirk Pitt in Clive Cussler's novels.
