- 1884: Foundation: Christian Ruefli-Flury, a skilled watchmaker, founded Edox ("measuring of time" in Greek) in Bienne after his wife admired a pocket watch he created for her 25th birthday.
- 1900: The Logo: The company adopted the hourglass as its logo, symbolizing the measurement of time.
