1960's Nivada "Viking" Cal 1686 Manual Winding Gold Plated Watch

A fine quality 1960's Nivada Viking Watch with a signed cal 1686 17 Jewel manual winding movement .
The watch measures 34mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs by 40mm. The case is gold on brass and has some edge surface marking. The screw-on case back is Stainless-Steel. 
The champagne silver dial is signed Nivada Viking, there is some faint age spots around the three o clock marker. A new brown leather strap has been fitted.
Nivada was founded in Grenchen, Switzerland, in 1926 by Jacob Schneider and quickly established a reputation for reliable, precise watches. The brand grew significantly in the post-WWII era with the launch of iconic models like the Antarctic in 1950 and the Chronomaster in 1963. After being affected by the Quartz Crisis of the 1970s, the brand went dormant for decades before being revived in 2018, and it now re-releases its classic models.
