Jobin History -

  • Establishment & Expansion: The company initially produced watches under various brand names, including FloraAjax, and Oranje. In 1900, a larger factory was opened in Porrentruy.
  • Centennial Success: In 1947, the firm opened a state-of-the-art factory to commemorate its 100th anniversary.
  • Middle Market Position: Paul Jobin watches were known for being "middle market" pieces—reliable and of reasonable quality, though not considered high-end luxury like Patek Philippe.
  • Decline: The company struggled to survive the Quartz Crisis of the 1970s and 1980s. It was eventually taken over by Edox at some point before the brand faded from production. The original entity was officially liquidated in 1993.
